I ought to be in bed, but I am not. Isn't that when things happen: when other things ought to be happening? I think thoughts flow better at night, everything seems more real and profound.
As I was driving home tonight I listened to the song "Ordinary Day" by Vanessa Carlton. I love the beginning with it's almost breathless beat, like it's barely being held together, but it's beautiful in it's need to catch up--just like ordinary days. I recommend it; take a listen, here. I love the reminder that ordinary people are just what we all need.
By the way, there are nine days until I get married. Nine ordinary, totally out-of-this-world days.
