Nostalgia
Yesterday a friend from Columbia asked me, "Why are all American Christmas songs nostalgic?" Though the fact that all the songs are nostalgic is debatable, but I can't deny that nostalgia is an integral part of Christmas. In that light, one of my favorite Christmas traditions is the celebration of Christmas Adam. The eve of Christmas Eve, December 23, is a day that our family of five has reserved for a special activity or event to do together. One year, Lydia asked if the eve of Christmas Eve was called Christmas Adam. The name stuck. This year we are watching the U Football Bowl game. We upgraded our cable just in time so that we now have ESPN. We are going to deck ourselves in U of U regalia, eat pizza, and cheer. GO UTES!
